New B2B Content Marketplace Bunqer to Launch at MIP London

Bunqer.tech, a new B2B content marketplace founded by Stephane Gateau and Charles van den Broek, is launching at MIP London, allowing IP owners to sell their shows and delivering features like immediate subtitling.

The new platform is promising low rates and a streamlined way for distributors to exploit their libraries. It has already secured 8,000 content hours. Features of the platform include subtitling into 75 languages. Adopters to date include ESPN and Millimages, with Amazon (AWS) as a technical partner and a sponsor. BNP Paribas is a partner and sponsor, ensuring financial transactions are secure. BPI France is a financing partner.

The company was founded by Gateau, a veteran producer and former CEO of R&G Production, and van den Broek, an entrepreneur and former lawyer. The board includes Yves Bigot (ex-CEO of TV5Monde), Richard Le Normand (former CEO of Studiocanal), and Olivier Pluquet (former CEO of Havas Asia Pacific).

“As a long-time producer of a wide range of successful TV shows, I’m pleased to see a platform that creates new revenue opportunities for producers—even long after programs have aired,” Gateau said. “Bunqer fills that need by offering broadcasters and local platforms an easy, cost-effective, and flexible solution to today’s programming challenges. I look forward to its continued growth and success.”

“We’re thrilled to make our debut at MIP London and are confident that Bunqer.tech will become an essential tool for producers and broadcasters building their programming grids,” van den Broek added. “Our platform enables fast, simple, and secure transactions for back-catalogue content.”
