Kill Jackie, a new eight-part revenge thriller from Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures starring and exec-produced by Catherine Zeta-Jones, has been licensed by HBO Max for Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, France and Belgium.
This latest deal follows AMC+ taking U.S. streaming rights to the show, based on the novel The Price You Pay by Sunday Times best-selling author Nick Harkaway, writing as Aidan Truhen.
“HBO Max has an outstanding track record of partnering on the very best projects, making it the perfect home for Kill Jackie,” said Jamie Lynn, EVP for co-production and distribution in EMEA at Fremantle. “As the platform continues to grow across Europe, we couldn’t be more delighted to embark on this adventure together. With its relentless pace, thrilling action and unforgettable central performance, we know Kill Jackie is in the very best of hands.”
The series is co-produced by Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures, in partnership with Deabru Kalea Filmeak. Tom Butterworth is writer and showrunner. It launches on HBO Max this year. U.S. sales are handled by De Maio Entertainment and Steel Springs Pictures, with Fremantle representing all other markets.
