The Apprentice: Unfinished Business, featuring fired contestants from the 20th season of the U.K. version of the format, is headed to BBC Two, BBC iPlayer, and BBC Sounds.
The spin-off will deliver interviews with ousted participants, analysis, and behind-the-scenes clips, hosted by broadcaster, podcaster, and author Angela Scanlon. The series is produced by Naked (a Fremantle label) in co-production with MGM Alternative UK. The 20th season of The Apprentice in the U.K. arrives on BBC Two and iPlayer on January 29.
“Having recently gone toe-to-toe with Lord Sugar in the boardroom, I have never understood or loved this iconic show more,” Scanlon said. “To be part of The Apprentice as it heads into its 20th year is an absolute treat. I can’t wait to get suited and booted and sit down with candidates and celeb fans each week to unpack the drama, make sense of the madness and hopefully walk away with some business advice while I’m at it!”
Kalpna Patel-Knight, head of entertainment commissioning at the BBC, noted, “With self-confessed Apprentice superfan Angela Scanlon at the helm, The Apprentice: Unfinished Business promises more in-depth analysis than ever. There will be fresh insight into the weekly tasks, business tips and hints, brilliant special guests and candid chat with the fired candidates for audiences to look forward to throughout the series available on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer plus for the first time ever via BBC Sounds.”
Paul Broadbent, director of program at Naked, added, “As we approach the milestone series 20 of The Apprentice, the show continues to go from strength to strength. We’re reinventing our companion show for our loyal audience to analyse each episode, through fun and engaging content, that can not only be watched but also listened to. We’re thrilled to have former celebrity candidate Angela Scanlon lead the conversation and invite the fans to join in on the chat.”
