Retail Monster UK has been appointed as the licensing agent and retail representation partner for Coolabi Group’s Warrior Cats in the U.K. and Ireland.
Key categories in the program for Warrior Cats include apparel, accessories, stationery, collectibles, home, FMCG, games, and more. Coolabi has already worked with Retail Monster US for the brand in North America, leading to the Bonkers toy line launch at retail in Walmart and Target.
In the U.K., Character Options manages distribution for Bonkers Toys. “Warrior Cats has delivered a resounding success at retail for Character Options this year,” commented Mark Hunt, marketing director at Character Options. “Following a great preview at London Toy Fair and our subsequent launch in June, sustained consumer demand has been incredible. In fact, after less than three months in the market, sales are so strong that we are already accelerating into season two. What is particularly pleasing is that this exceptional performance is mirrored across the entire portfolio—from our Mini Mystery Plush and 11-inch plush variants to the blind box collectible figures. There is no doubt that the brand is capturing a broad demographic of collectors, who are passionately building out their own clans from the iconic Warrior Cats universe.”
The long-running children’s fantasy book series is being adapted by Tencent Video, and animation studio Original Force, with Disney+ and Disney Channel on board globally. Created by Working Partners, it is published by HarperCollins in English-speaking markets. Written by Erin Hunter, it has sold over 90 million books to date, translated into 38 languages. Worldwide, the brand had more than 2 million annual users on the official website last year, 50 million views per month across user-generated content on YouTube, and close to 3 billion views on TikTok. On Roblox, the Warrior Cats: Ultimate Edition game has been played more than 728 million times.
Allison Watkins, EVP for L&M at Coolabi Group, stated, “The Warrior Cats franchise already has a global fanbase across publishing, Roblox, TikTok and YouTube and we only anticipate that this will grow with the launch of the TV series. The demand for consumer products in North America since they launched at retail has been incredible and we are confident that through our partnership with Retail Monster, we will see the same results in the U.K. and Ireland.”
Gemma Witts, MD of Retail Monster UK, added: “We are extremely excited to be working on Warrior Cats. The brand has a huge community of dedicated fans. We will build a programme that not only offers this community the products they want but also brings Warrior Cats to a new audience through consumer products. We have already had a fantastic response to Warrior Cats at retail, and we cannot wait to work alongside Coolabi to deliver a range that befits this amazing brand.”
