YouTube logged more than 1.7 billion unique viewers globally for FIFA World Cup content this year, including more than 550 million who tuned in on their TV sets.
Official YouTube broadcasts of the FIFA World Cup 2026 final match between Spain and Argentina drew an AMA (average minute audience) of more than 21 million across 40 markets, peaking at more than 27 million concurrent viewers on YouTube.
Meanwhile, FIFA’s official YouTube channel logged over 4 billion views and added over 7.5 million new subscribers between June 11 and July 19. As of today, the channel has more than 34 million global subscribers.
Per a YouTube blog post about the World Cup numbers, more than 45 billion hours of sports content are being consumed annually on the platform.
YouTube also notes that videos related to the tournament from creators on the platform accumulated 2.5 billion views worldwide.
YouTube was designated as a preferred platform for FIFA World Cup coverage earlier this year.
