MIPCOM Cannes has unveiled its microdrama and vertical content agenda with a raft of headline keynotes and panelists, including Anthony E. Zuiker and Holywater’s Anatolii Kasianov.
Zuiker, creator of the CSI franchise, will take to the stage of the Grand Auditorium to unveil Cinemalistics, a new platform that will create AI-powered fast-turnaround content pegged to breaking true-crime news. Kasianov, co-founder and co-CEO of Holywater, will showcase the latest developments at the microdrama giant as part of a lineup of other thought leaders from the vertical content arena.
“We’re seeing entirely new sectors of the entertainment business mature at remarkable speed,” said Lucy Smith, director of MIPCOM Cannes and MIPJunior. “What were emerging trends only a year ago, from vertical storytelling and creator-led businesses to AI-powered production, are now attracting investment, generating scalable business models, and becoming an increasingly important part of the global content economy. As these sectors continue to converge with premium television and entertainment, there is growing demand for a marketplace where established media companies, creators, technology businesses and investors can connect, build partnerships and unlock new commercial opportunities. That’s exactly what MIPCOM Cannes is designed to do.”
Other speakers set to feature as part of the lineup, which will focus on executive-level networking, curated matchmaking, and strategic discussions designed to facilitate deal-making, include COL Group’s Timothy Oh, Omdia’s Maria Rua Aguete, GammaTime’s Alex Montalvo, Second Rodeo Productions’ Scott Brown, RisingJoy’s Cassandra Yang, NetShort’s Stephen Liu, Y+X Entertainment’s Vivian Yin, and Jay & Tony Show Productions’ Jay Blumenfield.
In addition, a special episode of The Media Odyssey podcast, hosted by Evan Shapiro and Marion Ranchet, will be recorded on site with RoseBerry Media’s Guy Hameiri and Lior Friedman.
MIPCOM is also hosting an invitation-only Global Microdrama & Vertical Leaders’ Summit, while its official matchmaking platform will introduce a dedicated vertical content category.
